Engaging your Students in Critical Thinking: List of Steps

Consider the following steps in your course design to encourage students to engage in critical thinking:

  1. Familiarize yourself with the principles of critical thinking
  2. Incorporate critical thinking objectives in your course
  3. Identify the strategies for students to carry out the critical thinking activities
  4. Develop critical thinking writing activities
  5. Identify supporting strategies to aid/coach students in critical thinking
