Each question type that Blackboard offers in the creation of a Test can be automatically graded with one exception: Essays. When you refer to the Gradebook and View a student’s test you are then able to manually assign points to an essay question.

How to Grade Essay questions in the Gradebook

• Control Panel > Gradebook (from Assessment Pane)
• Exclamation Point (!) link (this action would be for each individual student)
• View button
• Read and enter the grade for the essay question(s)
• Submit button
