About this Guide
Each tour is set up with common features to help you find your way.
Why Bother?
For each tour we provide background information. This page is reached by clicking on the title of the Tour itself. This section provides more information about what you will discover in that tour, and what the destinations will help you to do.
Destinations
Each destination describes a feature or tool in Blackboard. A brief description of what the tool does, and a screen capture of the tool in Blackboard, similar to the one below, is provided so you know what the screen will look like.
Tour Activities (Experiences)
You will find the Tour Activities for each destination located below the description and screen shot in a multicolored table (see below). Tour Activities are the how-to information for each destination. Three activities are provided. Each activity has its own icon and will provide you with the same information, in different formats. Each format is described in the sample table below.

This will provide you with a printable HTML page offering step-by-step instructions for the destination. All the information is present on this page, from the description and screen shot, to the how-to information. You can use this to walk through the tool in your own course. |

Virtual Tour
This is a Flash-based movie that will show you where to click in your Blackboard course to accomplish this destination task. Just click on the link, and the movie will show you all the steps required to complete the task. |

Tour Stop:
These tour stops are interactive Flash-based movies. You experience the tool or task by clicking in the correct area of a sample Blackboard course to simulate the task. |
Sign Posts
These good practice hints and tips are offered in the left column under the destinations sign. Not all Destinations have Sign Posts, so keep an eye out for the ones that do. Each module's Sign Posts are collected into a one page view in the Good Practice module.
Breadcrumb Navigation
The line of links under the header graphic is called "breadcrumb navigation." Similar to the navigation provided in the Blackboard interface, this navigation system lets you know where you are in the tour you have chosen, and allows you to back out to the tour introduction, or all the way back out to the Tour home page. The last name (on the right) is the page you are currently on, while the first name in the list is always the Tour home.
