PRIDE Award

Purpose

PRIDE Awards are an integral part of GW's efforts to improve our faculty's teaching. They provide opportunities for faculty to redesign a course to increase its effectiveness, to conduct research necessary to bring the coverage of a course up to date, to conduct research on the methods of effective teaching, and to develop or experiment with innovative teaching methods or techniques, and to develop a new course using an innovative approach to the subject matter.

Time Period

Work supported by a PRIDE award is usually undertaken during the summer, and successful applicants will be expected to conduct their research or development work on campus. Recipients of PRIDE awards must be willing to present the results of their research or innovation at a Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching event during the following academic year.

Eligibility

All regular, active status faculty are eligible to compete for the award.
